Sanctus ex Machina: Saint-making in the Digital Age
My general interest is in digital religion, examining the relationship between Christian religion and ICTs (Internet Communications Technologies). My research is on the Catholic relationship with digital and internet technologies in the present. Through the case of St. Carlo Acutis, the "millennial saint," I explore aspects of Catholic religion (such as papal authority, saints, relics, and pilgrimage) and how they have transformed and developed in connection to virtual spaces and new trajectories.
